If you have accidentally deleted your files on Google Drive, you may be wondering how to recover them. Fortunately, there are several methods available for getting your data back.

One of the best methods is using data recovery software. This program will scan your computer hard drive, external HDD or USB flash drive for missing or deleted files.

Trash Folder

Google Drive is a widely-used online service for data syncing, transferring and backup. This platform also has a Trash Folder feature which enables the recovery of accidentally deleted files and folders.

The Trash Folder is a folder in Google Drive which retains deleted files for 30 days (unless manually emptyed). This useful feature ensures that files and folders remain in the system and can be restored at any time.

Restoring files and folders that have been accidentally deleted from Google Drive’s Trash Folder is a breeze with the Restore toolbar button. Alternatively, you can right-click the desired item in the list to open its context menu for easy restoration.

In some cases, you may wish to recover files permanently deleted from the Trash Folder. However, this can be a time-consuming process and should only be attempted if you have either a backup copy of the files or are certain that you deleted them knowingly.

Another way to recover permanently deleted files from the Trash Folder is by reaching out to Google Support. This free process requires you to fill out a form with details regarding what files need recovery and submit it.

Once you provide Google with all necessary information, they will contact you to discuss the specifics of the file or files being recovered. This process can be time-consuming and frustrating if there are thousands of files to be restored.

Thankfully, there are several methods for recovering permanently deleted files from Google Drive’s Trash Folder. The most popular method is using the Restore toolbar button and right-clicking on the desired file or files to be restored.

However, if you have thousands of files that need recovery, the process can be time-consuming and inefficient. Restoring each file one by one until all are restored is an inefficient endeavor that could take a considerable amount of effort and energy with no guarantee that all items will be successful; in such cases it may be best to only restore important ones and leave others alone.

Recycle Bin

Google Drive’s Recycle Bin is a handy feature that lets you store files and folders until they’re no longer needed. It can come in handy if you accidentally delete something by mistake or need to restore it later on.

To view the contents of your Recycle Bin, open a window similar to Figure 4-8 when you double-click its icon. This window provides access to all files and folders stored in the Recycle Bin and allows sorting items within it for easier retrieval.

If you no longer require files or folders, it’s wise to delete them from the Recycle Bin as soon as possible in order to free up some hard drive space. Furthermore, emptying the Recycle Bin after a significant amount of time has passed since you last removed a file can help ensure its longevity.

When files have been permanently removed from the Recycle Bin, there are a few ways to recover them. First, request a file restoration from your account administrator.

This is a standard procedure for school, company and group accounts. Administrators have the power to recover any files deleted up to 25 days after they were removed from the Recycle Bin.

One way to recover a permanently deleted file from Google Drive is by asking the person who uploaded it if they can send it back. They may be able to restore or share it with you again.

Alternatively, you can ask an official member of the Google Drive team to assist with recovering your files. All that needs to be done is submit a feedback form on their website and they will get in touch with you.

In addition to restoring a file, the Recycle Bin history tracking feature allows you to monitor which files have been deleted or restored. This data is invaluable if you have an administrative role on the account and need confirmation as to whether an item has been permanently removed or restored.

Admin Console

The Admin Console is an invaluable feature that lets you manage and restore Google Drive files. It also has other uses, such as setting custom settings for specific users or devices and managing subscriptions. The interface of the Admin Console is user-friendly; even advanced users can customize its behavior if required.

For instance, businesses can set up a user’s Google Drive folder to be automatically synced with their local computer. Furthermore, your company’s Google Drive account can auto-sync files from the cloud storage service and download new documents directly onto the local machine. All these features are ideal for businesses that require regular and reliable backups of their data.

Sometimes, things can go awry and a file is accidentally removed from your Google Drive. If this occurs, it can be difficult to determine where it originally resided and whether or not it had been permanently deleted.

To avoid this from occurring, you can always use a data recovery software to scan the folder or drive where your Google Drive files were stored and retrieve them for you. A popular option is Stellar Data Recovery Standard for Windows as it’s compatible with all recent Windows versions and supports cross-user restore – meaning you can transfer recovered files to another domain user within your organization.

Once the files have been restored to your local storage, they can be accessed using the Drive app on your device. Even permanently deleted files from Google Drive can be recovered this way.

Similarly, you can quickly restore an older version of a file that has been overwritten. To do this, locate the file, right-click it, and choose Manage Versions from the menu.

Once you identify which version of a file you would like to recover, based on its time frame, you can select an older one for recovery. This will enable you to retrieve your lost information and the software will even provide a summary of other changes made within 25 days that can be restored.

Local Storage

Google Drive is a widely-used cloud storage solution that enables users to store and synchronize their files across various devices. This enables them to access their information wherever there’s an internet connection.

If you have accidentally deleted some files from Google Drive, the Local Storage feature can help recover them. This feature is accessible across all platforms and a great way to retrieve missing documents.

However, you should be aware of some limitations with this feature. It may not allow for retrieving certain file versions or sharing permissions. Furthermore, it could create an accumulation of files in your Drive, taking up valuable storage space.

Fortunately, there are several methods available for recovering deleted files on Google Drive. Here are a few of them:

The first option is to utilize data recovery software to scan your computer for lost files. A reliable program will be able to search your computer for the desired items and even show both deleted and existing documents.

This software can recover files from hard drives, USB flash drives, SD cards, external drives, digital cameras and more with its fast scanning speed and powerful recovering abilities. It even works on encrypted files!

Another excellent option is using iMyFone D-Back for Android, which can be used to recover deleted Google Drive files from your device. This software is user friendly and capable of recovering corrupted or deleted documents.

You can download and install this software on your computer and connect the device via USB cable. Upon doing so, it will ask for your account credentials. Afterward, select what type of data needs to be recovered.

Another option is to ask an administrator to recover your files on Google Drive. With either a school or business account, administrators have the capacity to retrieve up to 25 days worth of deleted documents from Google Drive. While this feature can be helpful, its use can be laborious.
