One of the most common problems with laptops is overheating.

Laptop overheating occurs when the CPU fan in the laptop starts to speed up and slows down very rapidly. This creates heat which can cause your laptop to overheat and prevent the cooling fan from running effectively. If you have a problem with your laptop overheating, it’s important to act quickly and call in a professional to diagnose the problem.

The best way to avoid overheating is to ensure that your laptop has enough ventilation around the perimeter of the machine. Your laptop computer should also be set up so that it gets adequate airflow. If you notice that the fan doesn’t work properly, or if the machine has a red tint to the fan blades, it may be that your laptop needs repair.

If you feel that your laptop is overheating, and it isn’t just a minor problem like too much heat or too little air, you should turn off the power to the laptop. Shutting off the power to the machine will help de-assert the computer’s heat from the inside. You should also be careful about turning off the computer as it is when the lid is closed.

The next step for the Laptop repair is to shut down the computer and unplug the battery. Unplugging the battery will prevent short circuits and power surges. The power supply should be disconnected as well. If you have a cord that connects the power supply to the laptop, make sure that you disconnect it before you disconnect the batteries.

You should also disconnect the wireless and Bluetooth features from the laptop before you start the laptop up again. Because overheating can occur when the laptop is plugged into the power source, it’s important to ensure that it stays plugged in during the entire repair. Leaving the laptop on while it is being repaired can cause more harm than good.

The next step is to unplug the USB adapter for the laptop. Any accessories that plug into the laptop should also be unplugged. While the laptop is being repaired, you should never plug the laptop into a power source such as a wall outlet.

The laptop should be put away to cool down. If you left it unattended, the heat generated will just build up and cause the computer to run more slowly. Plugging it into an outlet for a short period of time is not recommended either.

Next, turn the power switch off on the laptop. If you have to, flip the power switch on and off. The laptop should be completely unplugged.

When the laptop is unplugged, you should remove the laptop’s power cord. You should not let anyone handle the laptop when it is in this condition. The heat will cause the internal components to fail and may damage the internal parts.

You should look under the keyboard of the laptop to check to see if there is a thermal fuse. Sometimes the laptop won’t start up at all, even after you have removed the power cord. It could be a small problem that can be solved easily by simply replacing the fuse that is located in the keyboard.

When you feel that the laptop is fully cooled down, it’s time to begin repairing the laptop. There are many things that you can do to keep your laptop running smoothly. The use of quality laptop accessories, professional advice and a little common sense will keep your laptop performing at its optimal level.
