Acceptance of Terms

By using our services, visiting our workshop, or engaging with our website, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree with any part of these terms, please don’t use our services.

Service Agreements and Quotations

Free Diagnostics: We provide free software diagnostics to identify problems with your device.

Quotations: For hardware repairs, we’ll provide clear quotations before starting work. You’ll approve all costs before we proceed.

No Fix, No Fee: Our “No Fix, No Fee” guarantee applies to basic software diagnostics and specific services as agreed. If we can’t resolve the agreed issue, you won’t be charged for the repair attempt.

Diagnostic Fees: Advanced diagnostics requiring hardware inspection carry a ยฃ20 fee, which covers our technician’s time and expertise. This fee applies even if you decide not to proceed with repairs.

Payment Terms

Accepted Payment Methods:

  • Cash (in-person payments)
  • Bank transfer (in-person payments)
  • Credit and debit cards (online services)
  • Apple Pay and Google Pay (online services)

Payment Timing: Payment is required after successful completion of repairs, not before.

Deposits: For expensive components or complex repairs, we may require a deposit before ordering parts.

Pricing: Our repair prices are clearly outlined in our Repair Price Guide. Prices may vary based on specific requirements and component costs.

Warranty and Guarantees

90-Day Labour Warranty: All hardware repairs include a 90-day warranty on our workmanship. If the same fault recurs due to our repair work, we’ll fix it again at no additional labour cost.

Software Services: Software services (virus removal, OS installation, optimisation) include a 7-day guarantee. If the same issue returns within 7 days, we’ll re-examine and resolve it without additional charge.

Parts Warranty: Replacement parts are covered by manufacturer warranties, which we’ll help you claim where possible.

Warranty Limitations:

  • Warranty doesn’t cover new, unrelated faults
  • Warranty becomes void if devices suffer physical damage, liquid damage, or misuse after repair
  • Software issues are inherently unpredictable and carry shorter guarantee periods

Component Failure During Repair

Electronics can fail unexpectedly during repair work. If components fail while in our workshop:

Pre-existing Conditions: Devices may appear functional but be in the process of failing. If components fail during repair (e.g., hard drive failure while repairing a screen), you remain responsible for completed work and labour costs.

Our Responsibility: If we damage your device through negligence or mishandling, we’ll repair or replace the damage at our cost.

Customer Responsibility: You’re responsible for completed repair work even if additional faults are discovered during the process.

Data Recovery Services

Best Effort Basis: Data recovery services are performed on a “best effort” basis. We can’t guarantee successful recovery of lost or corrupted data.

No Data, No Fee: For standard data recovery, if we can’t recover any data, you don’t pay the recovery fee. Diagnostic fees may apply for advanced cases.

Partial Recovery: If only some data is recoverable, you’ll be given the option to accept or decline the recovery before payment.

Service Fees: Data recovery fees cover time, expertise, and specialised tools used in recovery attempts and are non-refundable once work begins.

Customer Responsibilities

Accurate Information: Provide accurate descriptions of problems and device history.

Data Backup: You’re responsible for backing up important data before bringing devices for repair.

Device Collection: Collect repaired devices promptly. Devices left for extended periods may incur storage charges.

Payment: Make payments as agreed after successful completion of work.

Device Security: Remove personal passwords and access codes before repair, or provide them if required for testing.

Limitation of Liability

Service Limits: Our liability is limited to the value of services provided. We’re not liable for:

  • Loss of data or software (unless specifically contracted for data recovery)
  • Consequential losses or business interruption
  • Issues caused by third-party software or hardware
  • Pre-existing device problems unrelated to our work

Insurance Coverage: We maintain Professional Indemnity Insurance (Policy ATAP/1379738) through Arkel Underwriting/Chaucer Insurance Company DAC.

Maximum Liability: Our total liability for any claim won’t exceed the amount paid for the specific service in question.

Refunds and Cancellations

No Returns Policy: Our services are intangible and performed on your devices. There are no physical products to return.

Cancellation Before Work: You can cancel services before work begins without charge.

Cancellation After Work Begins: If work has started, you may be liable for diagnostic fees and work completed up to cancellation.

Completed Services: Payments for completed services are final and non-refundable, except under warranty conditions.

Refund Process: Approved warranty claims will be re-performed at no charge. In exceptional circumstances, partial refunds may be offered at our discretion.

Software Licensing: You’re responsible for ensuring all software on your devices is properly licensed.

Service Methods: Our repair techniques, diagnostic processes, and business methods remain our intellectual property.
